PFS Annual Meeting

Dear PFS Member,

We are delighted to invite you, on behalf of the PFS Board, to the Portland FolkMusic Society Annual Meeting on January 19, 2019.

It’s been a few years since we have held an Annual Meeting, but we would like to get back in the habit. It’s a chance for members to get together for fun and music, interact with their Board of Directors and the Committees, and consider some of the rewarding and fun volunteer opportunities that are available. You’ll also learn about some exciting new initiatives that we are launching, including a more modern and interactive website, a way for PFS members to publicize their musical events easily, this year’s Singtime Frolics with a very exciting Special Artist in Residence, and the most entertaining line-up of PFS concerts we can remember,

But above all, it’s a chance to enjoy each other’s company and listen to some of the finest folk music that you can find anywhere in Portland. We are going to have an hour or more of a concert by some of our Best Musicians, with each doing one song for our pleasure and participation. If you would like to perform, please let us know by email at the address below (and - we need to warn you that there may not be time for everyone to perform - please understand in advance if you aren’t chosen. There are A LOT of great performers at PFS).

Location: Tabor Space, 5441 SE Belmont St. Portland, OR 97215

4-4:30  Arrive
4:30-5:45 Concert
5:45-6:15 Board of Directors report to members, discussion
6:15-6:30 Election results, chance to meet the new slate of directors
6:30-7 Spaghetti dinner
7:7:30 Sing-alongs

The Annual Meeting is for PFS members, so if you want to bring friends, that’s great, but have them join PFS first. We need to know how much spaghetti to cook so please let us know by December 15, if you are coming. Also, if you would like to volunteer to help with logistics and food, please let us know that when you respond.

To let us know you are coming, to let us know that you will volunteer, and to let us know that you would like to perform, please just write to PFSAnnualMeeting@gmail.com.

Yours for preserving, performing and promoting the music of the folk in the Pacific Northwest,

Paul Rippey and Corinne McWilliams
